A COMMUNITY OF WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN
We provide one of a kind, handmade totes from repurposed jeans filled with personal care items to women in shelters across Nova Scotia. Our desire is to support and encourage during a time of transition.

We are a mother/daughter team with a passion to make a difference while knowing the value of a caring, compassionate community. We blend our creative styles and gifts to support women through this project.

OUR WORKSHOP
Our humble beginnings started in Abi’s old bedroom, where we created stations for measuring, cutting, sewing, and assembling so several women could work at once.
GET INVOLVED
There are many ways to support Purses With Purpose. Whether you host or attend an event, volunteer your time, or donate items from our needs list, every contribution helps us make a difference for women’s shelters across Nova Scotia.
HOST AN EVENT
Host an event to support Purses With Purpose. From jean drives to tote-making pop-ups, your community can play a hands-on role in helping women’s shelters across Nova Scotia.
Host a Jean Drive
Gather used jeans from your family, friends, local community or workplace. If your Jean Drive collected 30 or more jeans, we will arrange pickup throughout mainland Nova Scotia.
Host a Pop-up Event
You and your community of women can come together to have a supportive event to create totes for the Purses With Purpose Project!
You supply the space, tables, and jeans.
We will bring our team, sewing machines, templates, and the tools needed to create your one-of-a-kind totes to support Women’s Shelters.
VOLUNTEER
We welcome volunteers to join us, whether helping at events, making totes, or supporting us in other ways. Every bit of help is appreciated and makes a real difference.
